How to take screenshot on Laptop

Taking a screenshot on a laptop is a quick and helpful way to save or share what’s on your screen. Whether you’re using Windows, macOS, or a Chromebook, there are different ways to capture your screen.

Screenshot on Laptop Windows :

  • Full Screen: Press Windows + PrtScn (saved in Pictures > Screenshots).
  • Active Window: Press Alt + PrtScn (copy to clipboard).
  • Custom Area: Windows + Shift + S → lets you select a specific part of the screen. Image is copied to clipboard—you can paste it in Paint or Word.W
  • Custom Area: Use Snipping Tool or Snip & Sketch from the Start Menu.

Screenshot on MacBook:

  • Full Screen: Command + Shift + 3.
  • Selected Area: Command + Shift + 4.
  • Specific Window: Command + Shift + 4, then press Spacebar.

Screenshot on a Chromebook

Full Screen
  • Press Ctrl + Show Windows key (the key with a rectangle and two lines).
  • The screenshot is saved in Downloads.
Partial Screenshot
  • Press Ctrl + Shift + Show Windows.
  • Drag to select the area you want.
